As the Kassier Rd bridge building progresses, our team has started laying down the bottom steel mat and prestressing the tendons of this 66 m-long connector.
Now in superstructure or Bridge Deck stage, this bridge connects Westown Square with the new loop ramp and provides direct access into the Westown precinct and Westown Square.
The concrete pour for the bridge deck is scheduled for end September with a massive total of 660 m³ or 126 truckloads of concrete to be poured with 67 tons of steel to be integrated into the deck to ensure its strength.
Looking ahead, the deck will be prestressed in mid-October 2024, with full bridge completion expected at the end of November. To enhance its beauty, 9 light poles with LED tube lighting will be added along the deck’s edge creating an impressive tiara effect. A future expansion is on the horizon, including a replica bridge alongside the current structure.
