SHONGWENI ECO-PARK

In April 2024 JSE-listed Balwin Properties (Balwin), launched the Shongweni Eco-Park lifestyle estate, with 1 260 apartments comprising 25 phases to be built over the next few years, the first phase to be completed in early 2026.

This signals the first of 3 000 units to be built in the Westown Urban Core with a total of 20 000 units set to bring a rich residential element to the greater Shongweni development.

Shongweni Eco Park will form part of Balwin’s Classic Collection, including one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Prices are expected to range between R899 900 and R2 099 900 and sales will launch in the first quarter of 2025. As with all Classic collection apartments, large kitchen appliances are included in the sales price.

This unique, 6-star Greenstar-rated lifestyle estate will include access to amenities such as a fully equipped Training Science Gym, children’s play area, swimming pool, running/walking tracks as well as a concierge service. The apartments will be IFC EDGE Advanced certified, with massive savings over the term of the loan for homeowners qualifying for Balwin’s Green Bond product. Homeowners additionally save through lower utility charges.
