The biggest event of the KZN polo calendar is coming this weekend – The KZN Polo Champs brought to you by Westown and Absa! 🏆
The action kicks off from Friday 7th June to Sunday afternoon 9th June and will feature a full field of some top polo players from across the province competing in a round-robin tournament.
Games will be played daily from 9am to 4:30pm and the public is encouraged to pack a picnic basket and come along to enjoy the polo tail-gating style in the relaxed space of the Westown Shongweni Polo Club.
On Saturday 8th June Westown and Fundamentum Property Group is hosting a Hospitality Function for guests that focuses on people, polo, and the future of the Outer West.
While this is an exciting way to entertain partners and stakeholders, it is also the first step towards elevating the polo experience at the Westown Shongweni Polo Club to the levels currently enjoyed at venues in Gauteng and the Cape.
Equestrian-related activities are one of the characteristics of Shongweni and the Outer West, and they play an important role in the growth of the tourism, hospitality and retail sectors of the Outer West too.
Following the KZN Polo Champs is the WESTOWN SOUTH AFRICAN YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS, a multi-discipline, national equestrian show taking place at the Shongweni Club from 28th June to 4th July that brings South Africa’s top young riders together. And then from 17th to 28th July, the Shongweni Club is hosting the 2024 IGNITION POLOCROSSE WORLD CUP where 8 countries and 128 horses will participate in this prestigious event.
It’s a busy season for the equestrian community and Westown is excited to be a part of it.
