It was all about confidence and opportunity and flying the flag for KZN with Westown at Shopping Congress in Cape Town in October.
The theme of the 2023 South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC) 2023 Congress was Anti-fragility, described by SACSC CEO Amanda Stops as something that turns challenges into growth opportunities, disruptions into innovation and uncertainty into resilient systems.
The anti-fragility pillars – survive, thrive and grow – align powerfully with the specific issues and opportunities we have in South African Shopping centres today,” wrote Amanda in the Congress magazine.
With the Westown Square retail experience at the forefront of the Westown stand, the leasing team led by director of retail leasing Lana Pattison shared what is to come for the Outer West of KZN through the trigger development of Westown Square and the Westown development as a whole.
There was a huge amount of interest from investors, retailers and consultants with a constant flow of engagement and positive energy. Being able to “interact” with the site through the 360-degree view on the interactive screen made Westown “real” and triggered a strong sense of confidence in the project, and KZN,” said Lana.
